- We are dealing with a case of two modern Raskolnikovs. We are dealing with murders of elderly women committed as a result of motivation known from the novel by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. There are crimes, there will be punishment - said Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, at a press conference. Two people have been detained and charged in the case of the murders of senior women in Warsaw.

- Considering the nature of the events, the brutality of the perpetrators' actions and who the victims were, the priority was to determine as soon as possible who was behind these murders - said Robert Szumiata, spokesman for the KSP.

Two people were detained in the case, and the starting point was a crime that took place in Warsaw's Ursynów district on Wąwozowa Street.

- Just after midnight, a bank employee received a call from an elderly woman who asked him to change the passwords to her account. The conversation was suddenly interrupted. This information from the Emergency Call Center was immediately passed on to the police, who quickly arrived on the scene with the victim's son - the policeman reported.

As it turned out, the police had to enter the apartment by force, and a man was seen on the balcony trying to escape. He was eventually detained, and the body of a woman was found in the premises. The man is a 43-year-old Pole.
